About Woodland, CA
Woodland is the county seat of Yolo County and home to roughly 60,000 residents, sitting about 15 miles northwest of Sacramento on the valley floor. The city was founded in the 1860s as an agricultural supply hub, and farming still defines the landscape around it, with tomato and sunflower fields starting almost at the city limits. Interstate 5 runs through Woodland, making it a practical commuter base for people who work in Sacramento or at UC Davis to the southeast. Median home values have climbed into the $400,000 to $450,000 range in recent years as buyers from the Bay Area and Sacramento have moved into Yolo County for more space.
Downtown Woodland contains one of the best-preserved Victorian streetscapes in the Central Valley. Homes along College Street, Second Street, and Cross Street include original wood-siding Victorians and Craftsman bungalows built between roughly 1880 and 1930, many still in use as primary residences. The Woodland Opera House, a fully restored Victorian-era theater built in 1896, is the most recognized landmark in the historic core and still hosts live performances. The newer side of Woodland, the subdivisions built from the 1990s through the 2010s along Gibson Road and Beamer Street, is a different world entirely: stucco exteriors, tile roofs, and standard suburban lots.
We also serve the nearby city of Davis, about 10 miles to the southeast along Interstate 80, where we handle attic insulation, air sealing, and energy efficiency upgrades for homeowners near UC Davis. Homeowners in Folsom and the Sacramento foothills corridor to the east are also within our service area.
